Cam ain Hame Every Tuesday in my village there used to be a sheep market. For years, four old men leaned over the railings discussing such things as the fluctuating price of lamb. Afterwards they would go across the road to our ‘local’ to continue the conversation. The Sheep Market is long gone, replaced by a housing estate called ‘The Mart’. Now well into their 70s and 80s these men still meet every Tuesday beside the fire in our local. With this sculpture I doff my cap to these gents of the Glen, to their friendship and I mourn a way of life lost to the developer. |
